My name is Kelly Ayotte. I’m planning to finally go back to school this fall semester. I graduated in the class of 2011 and I would talk about the scholarship I’m applying for.
It’s for $40k. That’s a lot of money for school and I’m only getting my associates right now and eventually my bachelors, if you sponsor me on this website, then I have a better chance at getting it… money is tight. I currently live with my boyfriend and he pays $300 in rent to his father, I pay nothing. Why? Unfortunately, I work 20-25 hours a week at $8.00 an hour at a grocery store. I don’t make enough to pitch in. *Where does the money go?* It goes towards my car payment, gas, my cell phone, doctors appointments, my anxiety medication and lastly, my car insurance. All of which add to more then $400 a month. That’s just estimating. I’m taking six classes this fall and they added up extremely quickly and that doesn’t count the textbook and supplies I’m gonna have to get come September.
I’m dying to go back to school. I honestly would’ve gone back immediately, but my brother’s death cause me to grieve for a very long time and I barely graduated high school. I had to get a GED instead of my high school’s actual diploma.
The biggest thing, for me, is to get my teacher’s certificate and help others who were like me, family problems, get their diploma. Whether it be someone who dropped out, someone who just couldn’t do it, I want to help them get what they want. I want to help them like my mentors in high school helped me.
I want to help people having a tough time.

I don’t believe there’s a best console or gaming medium, but if there’s one thing I hate more than anything:
You’re not real gamer if you play games on anything but a PC.
EXCUSE ME?!?? I have been playing games since I was three years old and beat my first game when I was four or five. I can’t fucking play PC games because I’d rather pay $200 dollars for a machine than $600+ to experience a similar library.
There are a lot of games I can’t play because my laptop is a piece of shit, but I manage. I recently played Don’t Starve and my shitty PC didn’t stop me from playing To The Moon.
I want to play more but I have limitations. I’m about to be a full time student, I make $8.30/hr, I live with my boyfriend, and I have bills to pay.. I can’t waste too much money on games and as much as I’d wanna be in an isolated bubble and play games the rest of my life, I can’t. Responsibilities come first…
Fuck off.
I see positives in all the mediums. All of them. They’ve have their pros and cons and it never bothers me if someone would rather play on a PC, but don’t say I’m not a gamer because I play games on a PS3, Vita, 360, ds, 3ds, Wii or Wii U. That’s NOT FAIR.
And don’t even get me started on how female gamers are treated… That’s a rant for another day.
